Pac 12 Conference foes will square off on Thursday night, when the Stanford Cardinal visit the Arizona State Sun Devils. The Cardinal won four straight games to start the season, but come into this contest having lost consecutive contests. Last time out, Stanford RB Bryce Love (ankle) was forced to sit out during a 40-21 loss versus Utah. K.J. Costello threw for 381 yards and a touchdown in a losing effort for Stanford, who turned the ball over four times in defeat.

Through six games, Stanford ranks a disappointing 108th in total offense and is scoring 25.7 points on average. Arizona State has a middle of the pack defense, ranking 70th in yards allowed and giving up just 21.2 points per game. The Arizona State Sun Devils are led by first year head coach Herm Edwards and have dropped three of their last four games. The Sun Devils defeated Michigan State at home, but are just 1-2 in conference play. Last time out, Arizona State was torched for four touchdowns by Colorado WR Laviska Shenault during a 28-21 road loss. Eno Benjamin rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns for the Sun Devils, who allowed 494 yards of total offense on the night.

For the season, Arizona State ranks 56th in total offense and is scoring at a 29.8 point clip. Stanford is no longer dominant on defense, ranking 79th in yards allowed and giving up 22.0 points per contest.

This has been a historically even series with Stanford winning the last meeting by a 34-24 margin at home.
