In Saturday afternoon college football action, the South Florida Bulls will travel north to face the Navy Midshipmen. South Florida has split their first six games and have struggled to move the ball consistently for head coach Charlie Strong. On Saturday, the Bulls rallied for 14 unanswered points during the fourth quarter of a 27-23 home victory versus BYU.
Jordan Cronkrite’s two-yard touchdown run with seven plus minutes remaining put the Bulls ahead to stay. Cronkrite finished the day with 158 yards on 26 carries.
The Navy Midshipmen have won four of their first five games, with their lone loss coming at Memphis by 12 points. On Saturday, Navy built a 25-point halftime lead and cruised to a 45-17 road triumph against Tulsa. The Midshipmen outgained the Golden Hurricane by 100 yards and turned the ball over just once on the day.
Navy QB Malcolm Perry rushed 20 times for 218 yards and three touchdowns to lead the offense. Jamale Carothers contributed 52 yards rushing on just five attempts.
