The week eight college football schedule will kickoff with a matchup between the South Alabama Jaguars and the Troy Trojans on Wednesday night. South Alabama has lost five of their first six games and have not recorded a victory in Sun Belt Conference play. On Thursday, the Jaguars were knocked off in double overtime versus Georgia Southern by a 20-17 final score.
South Alabama led by seven points late in the fourth quarter and allowed the game tying touchdown with 20 seconds remaining. Kawaan Baker posted 126 yards receiving and a score for the Jaguars.
The Troy Trojans have lost three of their first five games, but are still considered to be contenders to win the Sun Belt Championship. Last time out, Troy was overmatched during a 42-10 road loss against Missouri. The Trojans were outgained by 232 yards and turned the ball over three times in defeat.
Troy WR Kam Scott caught three passes for 44 yards and a touchdown. Trevon Woolfork added 18 carries for 62 yards in a losing effort for the Trojans.
