The SMU Mustangs are set to visit Yulman Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana for an AAC clash against the Tulane Green Wave. The SMU Mustangs come into this matchup with a 4-0 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent home game against the Memphis Tigers, 30-27. QB Shane Buechele had a big game through the air for SMU as he connected on 32 of his 46 pass attempts for 474 yards and 3 TDs. WR Reggie Roberson Jr. was the top target for Buechele and the Mustangs as he hauled in 5 catches for 243 yards and 2 TDs.

The SMU Mustangs were solid on the defensive side of the ball against the Memphis Tigers as they held them to 27 points while forcing 4 turnovers. Senior LB Delano Robinson led the way for the SMU defense as he recorded 11 tackles. The Mustangs were able to get into the Memphis backfield a handful of times as Richard McBryde recorded 8 tackles and 2 TFL while the team had 7 TFLs and 3 sacks.

The Tulane Green Wave come into this matchup with a 2-2 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent road game against the Houston Cougars, 49-31. QB Michael Pratt was unable to get much offense generated through the air for the Green Wave as he connected on 11 of his 25 pass attempts for 141 yards and 1 TD. The ground attack was kept in check for Tulane as Cameron Carroll only ran for 34 yards on 18 carries while Amare Jones pitched in 14 yards on 7 carries.

The Tulane Green Wave struggled on the defensive side of the ball against the Houston Cougars as they allowed them to score 49 points while racking up a total of 476 yards of offense. LB Dorian Williams led the way for the Tulane defense with 12 tackles, 3 TFLs, and 1 sack while Chase Kuerschen also had 12 tackles. Safety Macon Clark had a big game from the secondary for the Green Wave as he recorded 2 interceptions, 1 of which he returned for a TD.

The SMU Mustangs have been very good this season as their high-powered offense has scored at least 50 points twice this season, and they shouldn’t have a problem shredding a Tulane defense that gave up 49 to Houston. The Mustangs have one of the best QBs in college football with Shane Buechele as he has been nearly perfect this year with 1,326 yards, 10 TDs, and 2 interceptions, but he also has weapons in the backfield with RB Ulysses Bentley IV as he has compiled 412 rushing yards and 7 TDs. The Green Wave showed that their offense is unable to score points when their run game is shut down, and that should be the motive for the SMU Mustangs as freshmen QB Michael Pratt hasn’t shown anything on tape in terms of throwing the ball. Final Score Prediction, SMU Mustangs win and cover ATS 45-28.
