San Jose State vs Washington State Picks and Prediction – 9/21/2024

The final game of the Friday college football schedule will feature a matchup between the San Jose State Spartans and the Washington State Cougars from Gesa Field. The Washington State Cougars entered the year being left out of a Power Four Conference, but will be playing in the rebuilt Pac 12 Conference next season. The Cougars (3-0) are averaging 464 yards and 21.7 points per contest. On Saturday, Washington State held Washington scoreless in the final quarter to hold on for a 24-19 victory in the Apple Cup. 

Washington State took a 17-13 advantage into halftime on a John Mateer 25-yard touchdown run. Mateer also threw for 245 yards and connected with Josh Meredith on a 16-yard touchdown pass. The Cougars were outgained 452-381 and committed one turnover. 

Entering the season, San Jose State was not expected to do much with QB questions and a tough schedule.
