On Saturday, the San Jose State Spartans visit Michie Stadium in West Point, New York to play the Army Black Knights. The Spartans fell to 3-4 on the season following a 27-17 loss to San Diego State. San Jose State managed to rush for just 54 yards and had the ball for just 19:38 compared to 40:22 for San Diego State. Josh Love threw for 218 yards, a pair of touchdowns and one interception.
Army dropped to 3-4 on the season following its 28-21 loss to Georgia State. The Black Knights were driving for a tying touchdown but Army QB Kelvin Hopkins was intercepted at Georgia State’s three-yard line and the Black Knights hopes ended. The loss was Army’s third straight. Sandon McCoy had a pair of Army touchdowns on the ground.
The Spartans starting quarterback Josh Love has thrown for 1,823 yards, 10 touchdowns and two interceptions. Nick Nash leads the running attack for the Spartans with 255 yards and three touchdowns, while Tre Walker with 447 yards and one touchdown leads all receivers for San Jose State. The leading tackler for San Jose State is Ethan Aguayo with 58.
Kelvin Hopkins Jr. has thrown for 367 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions for Army. Connor Slomka is the leading rusher with 336 yards and three touchdowns. In all, six players have rushed for more than 100 yards for the Black Knights. Artice Hobbs IV is the leading receiver with 173 yards and one touchdown. Cole Christiansen is the leading tackler with 62.
