Rice at North Texas 11/26/22 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The Rice Owls take a road trip to Denton, TX this week for a match up with the North Texas Mean Green. Rice comes into their 12th game of the season 5-6 on the year riding a two game losing streak after a 34 point loss to UTSA. Offensively Rice struggled to move the ball compiling only 235 yards of offense after converting only four first downs and turning the ball over three times leading to the loss. Defensively Rice was no match for the Roadrunners giving up 394 total yards and 41 points in the game.

Rice used three different quarterbacks in the game combining to complete 20 of 42 passes for 225 yards and one score. Juma Otoviano led the way on the ground for Rice with 23 yards on 8 carries and Bradley Rozner posted a team high 73 yards and one touchdown on four receptions. Kobie Campbell added five catches for 43 yards as well.

The North Texas Mean Green come into this week one game above .500 following a 20 point blowout loss against UAB. Defensively North Texas was dominated as the Blazers scored 41 points including 24 in the second half on 505 total yards of offense. Offensively North Texas did move the ball well with more than 260 yards and scored 21 points in the game but turned the ball over one time and failed to score in the second half leading to the loss.

Austin Aune completed only 15 passes for 159 yards and one score and ran the ball seven times for six yards and one touchdown as well. Ikaika Ragsdale led all ball carriers in the game for North Texas with 17 carries for 74 yards, while Damon Ward Jr added 58 yards and one school six catches.
