Purdue vs Ohio State Picks and Prediction – 11/9/2024

A loaded Saturday college football schedule will kick off on Saturday with a matchup between the Purdue Boilermakers and the Ohio State Buckeyes from the Horseshoe. Purdue RB Devin Mockobee forced the extra session with a one–yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter and was limited to 29 rushing yards. Hudson Card threw for 267 yards and a six-yard touchdown pass to Jahmal Edrine. The Boilermakers were outgained 124-47 on the ground. 

The Ohio State Buckeyes suffered a road loss to Oregon a couple of weeks ago and could be headed for a rematch with the Ducks in the conference championship game. The third-ranked Buckeyes (7-1) lead the conference in total defense and are limiting opponents to 12 points per contest. On Saturday, Ohio State made a goal-line stand late in the fourth quarter to preserve a 20-13 road victory against Penn State. 

Ohio State QB Will Howard overcame a fumble on an apparent score to finish with 182 passing yards and two touchdowns. The Buckeyes trailed by ten points early, but touchdown grabs by Emeka Egbuka and Brandon Inniss gave them a 14-10 lead. Quinshon Judkins contributed a game-high 95 rushing yards. 

Ohio State has dominated this series and has won the previous two meetings by a 100-40 combined score. The Boilermakers are no longer bowl eligible and will predictably wave the white flag against a superior opponent. Take the Buckeyes to win and cover in a laugher.
