Illinois turned the ball over twice and had nearly 27 minutes less time of possession then Wisconsin. The Fighting Illini made just eight first downs in the entire game while the defense allowed Wisconsin to make 23 first downs.

Quarterback Brandon Peters has passed for just 87 yards and has been sacked twice. Peters is also the leading rusher for Illinois with 75 yards, while Mike Epstein has rushed for 36. Brian Hightower and Josh Imatorbhebhe are the leading receivers with 26 yards apiece. On defense, linebacker Tarique Barnes has a team-high 11 tackles and one quarterback sack.

Purdue looked strong in its victory over Iowa as the Boilermakers used a balanced attack on offense, rushing for 104 yards and passing for 282. In contrast, Illinois was held to just 87 yards through the air and managed 131 on the ground while scoring just seven points in its loss. Purdue has covered the number in eight of its last nine.
