Purdue has won its last two games, after starting the season with three losses by a combined eight points. The Boilermakers are 2-3, but could easily be 5-0 when they play at Illinois on Saturday. The Illini are 3-2, rebounding last week with a win after losing two games.

AJ Bush returned for Illinois and led the team with two rushing touchdowns and one score passing. Bush has passed for 422 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. He has also run for 258 yards and two more touchdowns. Reggie Corbin leads the Illini rushers with 464 yards and five touchdowns. Illinois is averaging 5.6 yards per rush.

David Blough leads Purdue with 1318 yards passing, seven touchdowns and one interception. DJ Knox leads the running game with 390 yards and five touchdowns. Blough also has two rushing touchdowns.

Purdue is averaging 320 yards passing and 169 rushing, for a total offense average of 490 yards. The Boilermakers are giving up 447 per game, with 284 coming from passing.
Illinois is averaging 150 yards passing and 260 rushing. Illinois is averaging 411 yards of total offense and giving up an average of 483. The Illini have been giving up 289 yards passing and 194 rushing per game.

Purdue has won the last two meetings between these teams. Illinois leads the all-time series 44-43 with six ties. Illinois lost 10 in a row last year and already has surpassed last year's win total. Purdue reached a bowl game last year, winning four of its last five games, and that segment started with a win over Illinois.

Huge confidence building win for Illinois last week will help confidence of better than expected Fighting Illini team. Look for Purdue offense to do enough late to get close win but just can't see it being enough to cover this double digit spread. Final Score Prediction, Purdue Boilermakers win but fall short ATS 30-24.
