In Friday night college football action, the Pittsburgh Panthers will invade the Carrier Dome to take on the Syracuse Orange. Last time out, Pittsburgh wasted a 23-point lead before scoring late to escape with a 33-30 road victory against Duke. V’Lique Carter caught a 26-yard touchdown pass from Kenny Pickett with 38 seconds remaining to give the Panthers the win.
Pittsburgh WR Taysir Mack was on the receiving end of nine passes for 85 yards and a touchdown. The Panthers outgained the Blue Devils by a 337-288 margin and won despite turning the ball over four times.
The Syracuse Orange have split their first six games overall and are winless in two ACC Conference contests. On Thursday, Syracuse was held scoreless during the first half of a 16-10 road loss against NC State. The Orange were sacked eight times and did not score a touchdown until three minutes remaining in the game.
Syracuse QB Tommy Devito completed 29 of his 39 passes for 300 yards and a score. Trishton Jackson hauled in nine passes for 106 yards and a touchdown for the Orange.
