PITT at Wake Forest 11/17/18 - NCAA Football Picks & Predictions

The Pitt Panthers need to win one of its last two games to capture the coastal division of the ACC, and that starts this weekend with a game at Wake Forest. Four games ago the Panthers almost knocked off Notre Dame, and they have steamrolled three opponents - including ranked at the time Virginia - since then. The Panthers are 6-4 overall and 5-1 in the division. All but one of those losses were to ranked opponents.

Wake Forest is 5-5 and 2-4 in the Atlantic Division of the ACC. The Demon Deacons are coming off a stunning upset of No. 14 N.C. State.

Pitt has a strong running back duo. Qadree Ollison has rushed for 1054 yards, 10 touchdowns, and has a 7.1 yards per carry average. Darrin Hall has 844 yards rushing, eight touchdowns and is averaging 8.8 yards per carry. Quarterback Kenny Pickett has 1379 yards passing, nine touchdowns and five interceptions. Pickett also has 214 yards rushing and three more touchdowns. The Panthers have a healthy 6.5 yards per rush average, which is slightly better than their 6.4 yards per pass average. Wake Forest went with a new quarterback and it paid off last weekend. Jamie Newman got his first start and passed for 300 yards and three touchdowns. He also threw the winning touchdown with seven seconds left. Matt Colburn leads the running game with 698 yards and Cade Carney has run for 669. They have 11 of the team's 15 rushing touchdowns. Greg Dortch leads the receivers with 921 yards and seven touchdowns.
