Oregon vs Purdue Picks and Prediction – 10/19/2024

Senior QB Dillon Gabriel gave Oregon a 29-28 lead with a 27-yard touchdown run and Atticus Sappington kicked a 19-yard field goal for the winning margin. Evan Stewart caught seven passes for a game-high 149 yards and a score. Jordan James added 115 rushing yards and a touchdown for the Ducks. 

The Purdue Boilermakers have dropped five of their first six games and rumors are swirling around the program that the players have quit on head coach Ryan Walters. The Boilermakers currently rank last in the Big Ten Conference in total defense and are surrendering 39 points per contest. On Saturday, Purdue showed some unexpected fight during a 50-49 overtime loss against 23rd ranked Illinois. 

Purdue trailed by 21 points at halftime, but stormed back to take a 43-40 lead on a 13-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Browne to Devin Mockobee. Browne threw for 297 yards and added a game-high 118 yards on the ground for the Boilermakers. 

Oregon DE Jordan Burch suffered a lower body injury during practice last week and is unlikely to play in this game. The Ducks are coming off an emotional home victory in a Top 5 showdown and are very likely to be flat in this spot. Take the points with the Boilermakers.
