Oklahoma State vs Texas A&M 12/27/19 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The Oklahoma State Cowboys and Texas A&M Aggies are set to visit NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas as they will meet in the Academy Sports + Outdoors Texas Bowl. The Oklahoma State Cowboys come into this matchup with an 8-4 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent home game against the Oklahoma Sooners, 34-16. Senior QB Dru Brown struggled to get much going through the air for Oklahoma State as he connected on 22 of his 32 pass attempts for 207 yards and 1 interception. Sophomore RB Chuba Hubbard had a big game on the ground for the Cowboys as he ran for 104 yards and a TD on 24 carries.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys struggled on the defensive side of the ball against the Oklahoma Sooners as they allowed them to score 34 points and rack up a total of 450 yards of offense. Junior safety Malcolm Rodriguez led the way for the Oklahoma State defense with 11 tackles and half a sack. The secondary had a productive outing for the Cowboys as sophomore safety Kolby Harvell-Peel and sophomore safety Tre Sterling combined for 13 tackles.

The Texas A&M Aggies come into this matchup with a 7-5 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent road game against the LSU Tigers, 50-7. Junior QB Kellen Mond struggled to get any offense generated through the air for Texas A&M as he connected on 10 of his 30 pass attempts for 92 yards and 3 interceptions. Freshman RB Isaiah Spiller had a productive game on the ground for the Aggies as he ran for 66 yards and a TD.

The Texas A&M Aggies struggled on the defensive side of the ball against the LSU Tigers as they allowed them to score 50 points and rack up a total of 553 yards of offense. Sophomore LB Anthony Hines III led the way for the Texas A&M defense with 12 tackles and 1 TFL. The secondary had a productive outing for the Aggies as senior DB Charles Oliver and junior DB Myles Jones combined for 12 tackles and 4 pass deflections.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are once again explosive on the offensive side of the ball as they are averaging 33.4 PPG, and they should be able to find success against a Texas A&M defense that gave up 50 points in their previous game. RB Chuba Hubbard is arguably the best RB in the country as the sophomore has compiled 1936 rushing yards and 21 TDs, and I expect him to shoulder most of the load for the Cowboys. The Cowboys have been efficient with Dru Brown under center as he has thrown 5 TDs compared to only 1 interception, but they will need him to supplement Hubbard and help keep the defense honest. Texas A&M is dependent on Kellen Mond which came back to bite them against LSU as he threw 3 interceptions, but he should have much more success against the Cowboys as they are allowing 267.1 passing yards per game. The Cowboys will get their ground game working with Hubbard, but the SEC Aggies will prevail as their offense will find a little more success. Final Score Prediction, Texas A&M Aggies win but fail to cover ATS 35-31.
