On defense, Ronnie Hickman was the leading tackler with 95 and Haskell Garrett was the leader in quarterback sacks with 5.5.

Ohio State was devastated following its loss to Michigan in the final game of the regular season and missing out in taking part in the College Football Playoff. However, Ohio State has one of the best offenses in the nation that scored an average of 45.5 points per game. The Buckeyes have a running back that gained 1,172 yards and three receivers that gained 936 yards or more. Utah has not faced an offense of the caliber of Ohio State.
