The Ohio State Buckeyes head into the 2020-2021 season with a host of new players and high expectations. With the departure of Justin Fields, it now becomes time for CJ Stroud to take over the reins of a high-powered offense. Stroud Will be thrust into the spotlight but has the potential and talent to lead this Ohio State team to a great season in 2021.
The biggest weapon for the Ohio State offense will be a solid group of receivers led by senior Chris Olave who returns a team high 7 touchdown receptions and 729 yards for the 2020 season. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Garrett Wilson, and tight end Jeremy Ruckert will all see their roles increase this season as the new quarterback finds his way within the offense.
The Ohio State coaching staff will use a variety of different sets this season but the 4-2-5 will be a constant to make up for the loss of the team's leading tacklers in 2020. Haskell Garrett and Antwuan Jackson will be key pieces for the Ohio State defense controlling the center of the line allowing the linebackers and ends to make the plays. Sevyn Banks Will lead the Cornerback group with Cameron Brown returning from injury.
The 2021-2022 Ohio State Buckeyes will again be an elite team filled with an abundance of talent and potential. This team has all the pieces to again compete for a national title and will go as far as new quarterback CJ Stroud can take them. Stroud Will be thrust into the spotlight immediately but has the talent and ability to carry the Ohio State team this season.
