The Ohio State Buckeyes come into the 2021 season with a bad taste in their mouth after being routed 52-24 in the National Championship a season ago. The Buckeyes have all the pieces needed and a schedule with only one real hurdle on it to again get back to the College Football Playoffs.
CJ Stroud will take over at QB this season for the #4 ranked Buckeyes after the departure of Justin Fields to the NFL. Quinn Ewers left high school early to get to Ohio State and will most likely see time on the field in this game. The Buckeyes have a host of weapons on offense for a team expected to light the score board up in bunches.
The Minnesota Golden Gophers come into this season looking for redemption. The Golden Gophers finished the year 3-4 in 2020 and struggled immensely on both sides of the ball. Tanner Morgan will be under center again for Minnesota looking to get back to his Pre Covid numbers and will take this team as far as he goes.
Minnesota has a good schedule with a lot of games that are winnable before running the gauntlet to close the year. The Minnesota offense will shine this year with weapons on offense at various positions to help the team succeed. This team will be much better then last season but will struggle in week 1 against an elite top 5 team.
