Ohio at Louisiana 9/16/21 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The week three college football schedule will kickoff with a matchup between the Ohio Bobcats and the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns from Cajun Field. The Bobcats (0-2) had veteran head coach Frank Solich step down before the season due to health issues and are averaging a measly 17.5 points per game. On Saturday, Ohio was unable to convert a two-point conversion with nine seconds remaining during a 28-26 home loss versus FCS Duquesne.

Sophomore QB Kurtis Rourke completed 14 of his 22 passes for 168 yards and a touchdown. O’Shaan Allison carried 12 times for 76 yards in a losing effort for the Bobcats.

The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns started the season off with a 20-point road loss at Texas and are expected to be one of the top teams in the Sun Belt Conference. On Saturday, Louisiana held off a late rally by Nicholls to hold on for a 27-24 home victory. The Ragin’ Cajuns (1-1) were gashed for 511 yards of total offense and allowed the Colonels to convert 9-for-16 on third down.

Senior QB Levi Lewis completed 19 of his 33 passes for 304 yards and two touchdowns. Louisiana WR Michael Jefferson caught three passes for 84 yards and a score.

Ohio won the first two meetings in this series, but Louisiana prevailed with a 45-25 road victory in 2019. The Ragin’ Cajuns were ranked 23rd in the preseason Top 25 poll, but have not played to their potential. Take the Bobcats to cover the number on the road. Final Score Prediction, Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns win 34-20.
