Notre Dame at North Carolina 9/24/22 - College Football Picks & Predictions

Two teams trying to get their seasons on track will square off in week four, when the Notre Dame Fighting Irish travel to Kenan Stadium to take on the North Carolina Tar Heels. The Fighting Irish (1-2) started off with consecutive losses for rookie head coach Marvin Freeman and are struggling to score (18.3 ppg). On Saturday, Michael Mayer caught a fourth-quarter touchdown pass to lift Notre Dame to a 24-17 home victory versus California. 

Sophomore QB Drew Pyne made his first start of the year, finishing with 150 yards passing and two touchdowns. Audric Estime added 78 rushing yards and a score for the Fighting Irish.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are off to a 3-0 start and rank seventh nationally in scoring offense (51.3 ppg). Last time out, North Carolina overcame three turnovers to earn a hard-fought 35-28 road victory against Georgia State. The Tar Heels rolled up 467 yards of total offense and took the lead for good on a two-yard touchdown run from Omarion Hampton.

Freshman QB Drake Maye continued his stellar play with 284 passing yards and two touchdowns. Hampton contributed 110 rushing yards and two scores for the Tar Heels.
