The New Mexico State Aggies will be in Amherst, MA this week to take on the UMass Minutemen. New Mexico State has struggled this season with only two wins through their first seven games coming off a 12 point win against New Mexico a few weeks ago. Star Thomas led all ballcarriers for New Mexico State with 54 yards and one score on 13 carries and Kordell Davis added 44 yards and one touchdown on three receptions. Ahmonte Watkins chipped in 25 yards and one score on 3 catches as well.

The UMass Minutemen continue at homestand this week with only one win through their first seven games played riding a four-game losing streak following a 27 point loss to Buffalo. Defensively UMass was obliterated as Buffalo compiled 480 total yards including 277 through the air to score 34 points in the game following a 24 point first half. The UMass offense struggled scoring only seven points after being shut out in 3 quarters on 220 total yards.

Garrett Dzuro orchestrated the UMass offense completing only seven passes for 99 yards and ran the ball 10 times for 12 yards as well. Kay’ Ron Adams led the way on the ground with 65 yards on 11 carries and Ellis Merriweather added 21 yards and one touchdown on 10 carries as well. George Johnson III led all UMass receivers with 52 yards on two receptions.
