Louisiana-Lafayette could be the best 2-3 team in the country as they host a struggling New Mexico State (2-4) team this weekend. Two of Louisiana's losses were to top 15 teams. The Ragin Cajuns are 2-1 otherwise and lead the Sun Belt western division. New Mexico State has won its last two since changing quarterbacks. Still, the Aggies are near the bottom nationally in scoring defense and in rushing offense.

Louisiana is giving up 504 yards per game, but the Cajuns gave up a lot of yards to Alabama and Mississippi State. The Aggies are giving up an average of 434 yards per game and have not faced a ranked team.
The Ragin Cajuns are coming off a win over Texas State. Andre Nunez has passed for 765 yards, six touchdowns, and four interceptions. He has a touchdown pass in each game this season. Quarterback Levi Lewis has played in each game, and last week was 5-5 for 81 yards. Trey Ragas has 505 yards rushing and Elijah Mitchell has 353, and both are averaging seven yards per carry.

New Mexico State's Josh Adkins has taken over at quarterback. Last week he passed for 402 yards and four touchdowns, completing 67 percent of his passes, but that was against Liberty. Adkins has passed for 736 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions. As a team, New Mexico state has nine passing touchdowns and nine interceptions. New Mexico State has four rushing touchdowns this season, but Christian Gibson has 297 yards and is averaging eight yards per carry.

This New Mexico State team is one of the worst teams in College Football and can't imagine the Lobos being able to keep this close on the road. Lafayette has great team speed and that is difference on both sides of the ball. Final Score Prediction, Lafayette Ragin Cajuns win and cover ATS 30-17.
