New Mexico State at Hawaii 10/24/21 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The New Mexico State Aggies visit Clarence T. C. Ching Athletics Complex in Honolulu, Hawaii on Saturday to play the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. New Mexico State dropped to 1-6 following a 55-28 loss to the Nevada Wolf Pack a week ago last Saturday. New Mexico State gave up 532 yards of total offense to Nevada. On offense, New Mexico State quarterback Jonah Johnson passed for 425 yards with three touchdowns but could not keep pace with Nevada.

Jonah Johnson has passed for 1,449 yards with eight touchdowns and five interceptions. The Aggies’ signal-caller has been sacked 18 times. Juwan Price Is the leading rusher with 292 yards and three touchdowns and Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda is the leading receiver with 391 yards and four touchdowns. On defense, linebacker Trevor Brohard is the leading tackler with 40 and linebacker Chris Ojoh is the leader in quarterback sacks with 4.0.

Hawaii dropped to 3-4 overall and 1-2 in the Mountain West Conference following a  34-17 loss to the Nevada Wolf Pack on Saturday. Hawaii gained 393 yards but the Rainbow Warriors turned the ball over five times. Hawaii quarterback Brayden Schager passed for 205 yards but was intercepted four times. The bulk of Hawaii's offense came from Dae Dae Hunter, who rushed for 174 yards and a pair of touchdowns that included touchdown runs of 75 and 81 yards.

Quarterback Chevan Cordeiro has passed for 1,410 yards with seven touchdowns and six interceptions and did not play in the loss to Nevada but is expected to play on Saturday. Running back Dae Dae Hunter has rushed for a team-high 558 yards with three touchdowns, while wide receiver Nick Mardner has a team-high 502 yards receiving and three touchdowns. On defense, cornerback Khoury Bethley is the leading tackler with 50 and lineman Jonah Laulu is the leader in quarterback sacks with 4.0.

Hawaii has won each of the last eight meetings between these two straight up and has covered the number in five of those eight. Hawaii lost to Nevada last timeout but played without starting quarterback Chevan Coordeiro and Brayden Schlager threw three interceptions.
