On Saturday, the New Mexico State Aggies trek across the country to Allen E. Paulson Stadium in Statesboro, Georgia to play the Georgia Southern Eagles. The Aggies had a bye in Week 8 and lost their seventh straight in Week 7 after falling to Central Michigan 42-28. Josh Adkins threw for 263 yards and three TDs in the loss for the Aggies.
Georgia Southern won its second straight and improved to 3-3 with a 30-27 overtime victory over Coastal Carolina. Wesley Kennedy III rushed for 129 yards on 25 carries with two touchdowns. Kennedy scored the winning touchdown in the third overtime for Georgia Southern. J.D. King rushed for 80 yards and set up Kennedy’s game winner by converting on third-and-two.
