The New Mexico Lobos are set to visit Maverik Stadium in Logan, Utah for a Mountain West Conference clash against the Utah State Aggies. The New Mexico Lobos come into this matchup with a 0-4 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent road game against the Air Force Falcons, 28-0. QB Trae Hall struggled to find much consistency through the air for New Mexico as he connected on 23 of his 42 pass attempts for 221 yards and 1 interception. WR Emmanuel Logan-Greene was the top target for Hall and the Lobos as he hauled in 3 catches for 64 yards.

The New Mexico Lobos struggled on the defensive side of the ball against the Air Force Falcons as they allowed them to score 28 points and rack up a total of 422 yards of offense. LB Brandon Shook led the way for the New Mexico defense with 19 tackles. The Lobos were able to get into the Air Force backfield a handful of times as DE Joey Noble and DB Patrick Peek both recorded TFLs.

The Utah State Aggies come into this matchup with a 0-4 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent home game against the Fresno State Bulldogs, 35-16. QB Jason Shelley struggled to get much offense generated through the air for Utah State as he connected on 9 of his 24 pass attempts for 144 yards. RB Jaylen Warren had a productive game on the ground for the Aggies as he ran for 136 yards and a TD on 9 carries.

The Utah State Aggies struggled on the defensive side of the ball against the Fresno State Bulldogs as they allowed them to score 35 points and rack up a total of 541 yards of offense. LB AJ Vongphachanh and DB Dominic Tatum led the way for the Utah State defense with a combined 17 tackles. The secondary had a productive game for the Aggies as DB Shaq Bond had the lone interception of the game.

The Utah State Aggies have struggled this season as they are sitting at 0-4, and they will need to break in a new starting QB after their starter Jason Shelley was dismissed from the team. The Aggies were able to show something on the ground against Fresno State as Jaylen Warren ran for 136 yards and a TD, and I expect Utah State to try and establish that early. The New Mexico Lobos are down to their 2nd-string QB, and he hasn’t been great in his limited action as he has thrown 0 TDs to 3 interceptions, and while he should have a much better game against Utah State, I don’t expect their defense to completely shutout a solid RB in Jaylen Warren. Final Score Prediction, Utah State Aggies win and cover ATS 31-28.
