The Mountain West is getting ready to kick off their season this weekend. The Lobos are coming to the game here looking to give Danny Gonzales a good first year in what has been a very odd season so far. Now, the key thing that needs to happen is for the offense to show up this year  again or the season could really be long with how horrible the Lobos defense played last season.

The offense for the Lobos last year scored only 22.3 points a game. The Lobos passed the ball for 195 yards a game and the rushing offense went for 205 yards a game. Defensively the Lobos ended up giving up 37 points a game. The rushing defense gave up 164 yards a game, but the passing defense was horrible giving up 321 yards a game.

With Colorado State they are coming to the game here looking to pick up their first win as well. The game will actually be interesting with Colorado State bringing back a bulk of their offense. The other good news is the defense is bringing back 6 starters.

Scoring for the Rams last year resulted in 28 points per game. Rushing ended up with 132 yards per game and 305 yards a game in the air. The defense for the Rams gave up 31 points per game. When it came to yards allowed Colorado State gave up 195 yards a game on the ground and 181 yards per game in the air.

The Rams have the edge in this game with a better offense, but a markedly better defense. Look for the number of returning stars to make the difference in this game as Colorado State is bringing back quite a few players who have the talent that is needed. With that being said, look for Colorado State to do better offensively, but the defense to play pretty much the same as last year, but better in this game. Final Score Prediction, Colorado State Rams win but falls short ATS 35-24.
