The Nebraska Cornhuskers continue a road trip this week as they travel to West Lafayette,IN to take on the Purdue Boilermakers. Defensively Nebraska struggled as Rutgers accumulated 348 yards including 233 through the air but the Cornhuskers forced three turnovers and scored 14 unanswered second-half points to get the victory.
Casey Thompson led the way from Nebraska under center completing 24 of 36 passes for 232 yards and two scores. Anthony Grant was the top ball carrier in the Nebraska offense with 47 yards on 19 carries and Trey Palmer added 64 yards and one score on four receptions.
The Purdue Boilermakers return home this week running hot after winning four of the last five games played including three in a row after a 2 point road win in Maryland. Offensively Purdue had one of their better games of the season eclipsing 370 yards including 360 through the air to score 31 points in the ball game.
Aidan O’Connell played well under Center for Purdue completing 30 of 41 passes for 360 yards and two scores Payne Durham was the top target in the Purdue offense with 109 yards and one score on 7 receptions, while Mershawn Rice added 54 yards and one touchdown on five receptions.
