The Minnesota Golden Gophers are set to visit Maryland Stadium in College Park, Maryland for a Big Ten clash against the Maryland Terrapins. The Minnesota Golden Gophers come into this matchup with a 0-1 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent home game against the Michigan Wolverines, 49-24. QB Tanner Morgan struggled to find much success through the air for the Golden Gophers as he threw for 197 yards, 1 TD, and 1 interception. RB Mohamed Ibrahim had a productive game on the ground for Minnesota as he ran for 140 yards and 2 TDs.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers struggled on the defensive side of the ball against the Maryland Terrapins as they allowed them to score 49 points and rack up a total of 478 yards of offense. CB Tyler Nubin led the way for the Minnesota defense with 8 tackles and 1 forced fumble. LB Mariano Sori-Marin had a productive outing for the Golden Gophers as he pitched in 5 tackles and 2 passes defended.

The Maryland Terrapins come into this matchup with a 0-1 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent road game against the Northwestern Wildcats, 43-3. QB Taulia Tagovailoa struggled in his 1st career start as he connected on 14 of his 25 pass attempts for 94 yards and 3 interceptions. The ground game was unable to find much room against the Northwestern defense as RB Jake Funk only gained 35 yards while Peny Boone pitched in 30 yards.

The Maryland Terrapins struggled on the defensive side of the ball against the Northwestern Wildcats as they allowed them to score 43 points and rack up a total of 537 yards of offense. LB Chance Campbell led the way for the Maryland defense with 14 tackles and 1.5 TFLs. The Terrapins were able to get into the Northwestern backfield a handful of times as DL Anthony Booker Jr. had 1.5 TFLs while LB Ayinde Eley pitched in a TFL.

Both of these teams were embarrassed in their opening game of the season as they both gave up 40+ points, but the Maryland loss was by far the worst as they allowed Northwestern to score 43 points after only averaging 16.3 PPG. Minnesota has a very dangerous duo with Tanner Morgan and Rashod Bateman, and they proved it last game as they hooked up 9 times for 101 yards, and they should have no problem slashing the Maryland secondary. The Minnesota defense was unable to stop the Michigan Wolverines, but they should feel confident playing against the Alabama transfer as Tagovailoa threw 3 interceptions in his 1st start. Minnesota is a much better team than what they showed during the opening night of Big Ten play, and they prove that with a blowout win. Final Score Prediction, Minnesota Golden Gophers win and cover ATS 41-14.
