The college football bowl season with get underway with a matchup between the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders and the Toledo Rockets in the Bahamas Bowl. The Blue Raiders (6-6) split their eight Conference USA tilts and averaged 29.7 points per game overall. Last time out, Middle Tennessee scored 24 unanswered points to rally for a 27-17 road victory against Florida Atlantic.
Zaylin Wood put Middle Tennessee ahead to stay on a 6-yard touchdown reception with less than five minutes remaining. Jordan Ferguson put the game away with a 71-yard fumble return for the Blue Raiders.
The Toledo Rockets finished the season on a three-game winning streak and rank 33rd nationally in rushing offense (193.2 ypg). In their regular season finale, Toledo built a 14-point halftime lead and cruised to a 49-14 home victory versus Akron. The Rockets (7-5) rushed for 281 yards on 42 carries and possessed the ball for close to 33 minutes.
Toledo QB Dequan Finn completed 16 of 26 passes for 257 yards and four touchdowns. RB Bryant Koback contributed 135 rushing yards and found the end zone twice for the Rockets.
