Michigan at Wisconsin 9/21/19 - College Football Picks & Predictions

A huge early season college football matchup will take place on Saturday afternoon, when the Michigan Wolverines invade Camp Randall Stadium to face the Wisconsin Badgers. The 11th ranked Wolverines are 2-0 and are coming off a bye. Last time out, Michigan needed overtime to score a 24-21 home victory versus Army. Jake Moody nailed a 43-yard field goal in the second overtime period and the Wolverines recovered a fumble to seal the win.

Michigan RB Zach Charbonnet carried the ball 33 times for 100 yards and scored three touchdowns. The Wolverines limited the Black Knights to 3.3 yards per rush and forced three turnovers on the afternoon.

The Wisconsin Badgers have yet to allow a point in two games and are the clear cut favorites to win the West Division in the Big Ten Conference. Last time out, 13th ranked Wisconsin exploded for 44 points in the first half and cruised to a 61-0 home victory versus Central Michigan. Heisman Trophy candidate Jonathan Taylor rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns. Jack Coan threw for 363 yards and three touchdowns for the Badgers.

Wisconsin completely dominated Central Michigan in every phase of the game, including a 37-3 margin in first downs. The Badgers outgained the Chippewas by an impressive 599-58 difference in total yards.

Last season, Michigan dominated visiting Wisconsin by a 38-13 final score. The Wolverines were successful in bottling up Jonathan Taylor (17 car, 101 yds) and the Badgers were unsuccessful moving the ball through the air. This will be a low-scoring, defensive battle and I like Michigan to come away with a late victory. Final Score Prediction, Michigan Wolverines win in upset but grab the points just in case 23-20.
