Michigan vs Minnesota Picks and Prediction – 10/7/2023

Huntington Bank Stadium will play host to a Saturday night Big Ten Conference clash between the Michigan Wolverines and the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The second-ranked Wolverines (5-0) rank fourth nationally in total defense and have not allowed an opponent to score more than seven points. On Saturday, Michigan built a 28-point halftime lead and coasted to a 45-7 road victory against Nebraska. 

Michigan WR Roman Wilson caught touchdown passes of 29 and 16 yards from J.J. McCarthy in the first half. McCarthy added a21-yard touchdown run for the Wolverines, who converted 8-for-13 on third down and possessed the ball for 38 plus minutes. 

The Minnesota Golden Gophers have finished the last three seasons with bowl victories for head coach P.J. Fleck and figure to be bowl eligible once again. The Golden Gophers (3-2) lean heavily on a ground game that ranks fifth in the conference at close to 200 yards per contest. On Saturday, Minnesota outscored visiting Louisian by 14 points during the second half to earn a 35-24 victory. 

Minnesota trailed 17-14 at halftime and took the lead for good on an 18-yard touchdown run from Zach Evans. Daniel Jackson caught five passes for 89 yards and found the end zone twice for the Golden Gophers, who rushed for 201 yards.
