An American Athletics Conference showdown will take place on Friday night, when Memphis Tigers invade Yulman Stadium to take on the Tulane Green Wave. Memphis has won three of their first four games, with their lone loss coming at Navy by one point. On Saturday night, Darrell Henderson rushed for 188 yards and two touchdowns to lead Memphis to a 52-35 victory versus South Alabama. The Tigers rolled up 563 yards of total offense and gained 31 first downs.

Through four games, Memphis ranks fourth in the nation in passing offense and is scoring 49.5 points on average. Tulane will try to be up to the task with a defense that gives up 492 yards and 30 points per contest. The Tulane Green Wave have dropped three of their first four games and will be looking to turn things around in the conference opener. On Saturday, the Green Wave were overmatched during a 49-6 loss at fourth-ranked Ohio State. Tulane trailed 42-6 at halftime and allowed 570 yards of total offense on the afternoon. Darnell Mooney caught four passes for 77 yards in a losing effort for Tulane.

For the season, Tulane ranks a disappointing 96th in the country in total yards and is scoring 22.3 points per game. Memphis features an improved defense that ranks 24th in yards allowed and allows 23.3 points on average.

Memphis has won 11 straight times in this series, with Tulane last winning 18 years ago. The Green Wave has lost consecutive games on the road, but were competitive at home during a season opening 23-17 loss against Wake Forest. With Memphis allowing 35 points against South Alabama last weekend, they could be ripe for an upset. Take the points with the home team on Friday.
