The Marshall Thundering Herd come into this matchup with a 3-3 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent home game against the Old Dominion Monarchs, 31-17. QB Isaiah Green had a solid overall game for the Thundering Herd as he threw for 175 yards and a TD while also adding in 59 rushing yards and a TD. RB Brenden Knox had a big game on the ground as he ran for 104 yards and a TD on 24 carries.

The Marshall Thundering Herd were good on the defensive side of the ball as they held the Old Dominion Monarchs to 17 points and a total of 206 yards of offense. Junior LB Tavante Brickett led the way for the Marshall defense with 14 tackles and 1.5 TFL. Sophomore DL Darius Hodge was able to get into the Old Dominion backfield a handful of times as he contributed 4.5 sacks. Senior DB Kerron Merrell had a productive game from the secondary as he contributed 7 tackles and 2 pass deflections.

The Florida Atlantic Owls come into this matchup with a 4-2 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent home game against the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders, 28-13. QB Chris Robinson wasn’t able to find much consistency through the air for the Owls as he connected on 15 of his 30 pass attempts for 145 yards and a TD. RB Malcolm Davidson had an efficient game on the ground as he ran for 149 yards and a TD on 21 carries.

The Florida Atlantic Owls were solid on the defensive side of the ball as they held the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders to 13 points while forcing 3 turnovers. Senior safety Da’Von Brown led the way for the FAU defense with 8 tackles and 1 TFL. Senior LB Rashad Smith was able to have a solid game as he contributed 6 tackles and 1 interception. The secondary had an extremely productive game for Florida Atlantic as Meiko Dotson hauled in 2 interceptions.

The underdog has dominated the number when the FAU Owls and Marshall Thundering Herd meet as they have covered the spread in 5 of their last 6 meetings. The Florida Atlantic Owls have been very good against teams in the Group of 5 as their only losses have come against UCF and Ohio State, but Marshall is capable of sticking with the Owls on the road. Marshall has a solid dual-threat QB in Isaiah Green, and he should give a defense who is allowing an average of 28.5 PPG problems. This game has been traditionally close with this being an important C-USA game, and this should once again come down to a one-possession game. Final Score Prediction, Florida Atlantic Owls win but fail to cover ATS 31-27.
