LSU at Vanderbilt 9/21/19 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The No. 4 ranked LSU Tigers visit Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday to play the Vanderbilt Commodores. The Tigers improved to 3-0 on the season following a 65-14 blowout of Northwestern State. Joe Burrow threw for 373 yards completing 21 of his 24 passes with two touchdowns. The Tigers led 24-14 at the half, but outscored the Demons in the second half 41-0.

Vanderbilt did not play in Week 3 and fell to 0-2 during Week 2 following its 42-24 loss on the road against Purdue. Riley Neal passed for 378 yards and two touchdowns in the loss and the offense was much improved from the opening week when Vandy lost to Georgia 30-6. Penalties hurt Vanderbilt as the Commodores committed 13 for 100 yards.

Joe Burrow leads the Tigers with 1,122 yards passing, 11 touchdowns and two interceptions. The leading rusher for LSU is Clyde Edwards-Helaire with 37 carries and 182 yards with four touchdowns. Justin Jefferson leads all LSU receivers with 19 receptions for 374 yards and four touchdowns. Jacob Phillips leads the Tigers in tackles with 25.

Riley Neal has thrown for 463 yards, two touchdowns and one interception for Vandy. The leading rusher is Ke’Shawn Vaughn with 32 carries for 130 yards and one touchdown. Chris Pierce leads all receivers with 149 yards and one touchdown. Dashaun Jerkins is the leading tackler for the Commodores with 21.

The visiting team (LSU) has covered the number in each of the last 4 between the two. Quarterback Joe Burrow started slow on Saturday versus Northwestern State but led the Tigers to 27 points in the third quarter with pinpoint accuracy and in this matchup against the much weaker defense of Vandy will pick apart the secondary at will. Final Score Prediction, LSU Tigers win and cover ATS 42-7.
