LSU at Mississippi State 10/19/19 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The No. 5 ranked LSU Tigers visit Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, Mississippi on Saturday for an SEC battle with the Mississippi State Bulldogs. LSU improved to 6-0 on the season following its 42-28 victory over Florida on Saturday. The Tigers were led by quarterback Joe Burrow who threw for 293 yards and three touchdowns. The Tigers fell behind early but scored three consecutive touchdowns in the big SEC battle with the Gators to take the lead.

Mississippi State was upset by Tennessee on Saturday 20-10 and fell to 3-3. The Bulldogs were slowed by the tough Tennessee defense as the Volunteers intercepted three passes and held Kylin Hill to just 13 yards on 11 carries. Hill was averaging 119 yards per game rushing entering Saturday’s game. Garrett Shrader took over at quarterback in the second half for Mississippi State but threw for just 79 yards, one TD and one interception. 

Joe Burrow leads the Tigers with 2,157 yards passing, 25 touchdowns and three interceptions. The leading rusher for LSU is Clyde Edwards-Helaire with 494 yards with seven touchdowns. Justin Jefferson leads all LSU receivers with 670 yards and eight touchdowns. Jacob Phillips leads the Tigers in tackles with 44.

Garrett Shrader has thrown for 590 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions for Mississippi State. The leading rusher is Kylin Hill with 609 yards and five touchdowns. Osirus Mitchell is the leading receiver with 335 yards and four touchdowns. C.J. Morgan leads the Bulldogs in tackles with 45.
