The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs are set to visit Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama for a Conference USA clash against the UAB Blazers. The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs come into this matchup with an 8-2 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent road game against the Marshall Thundering Herd, 31-10. Freshman QB Aaron Allen struggled to get much offense generated through the air for Louisiana Tech as he connected on 19 of his 32 pass attempts for 159 yards. Junior RB Justin Henderson received a heavy workload on the ground for the Bulldogs as he ran for 87 yards and a TD on 21 carries.

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs struggled on the defensive side of the ball against the Marshall Thundering Herd as they allowed them to score 31 points and rack up a total of 405 yards of offense. Senior safety L’Jarius Sneed led the way for the Louisiana Tech defense with 13 tackles and 1 pass deflection. The secondary had a productive outing for the Bulldogs as junior CB Amik Robertson pitched in 5 tackles and 2 pass deflections while senior CB Michael Sam hauled in the lone interception of the game.

The UAB Blazers come into this matchup with a 7-3 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent home game against the UTEP Miners, 37-10. Freshman QB Dylan Thomas had an efficient game through the air as he connected on 5 of his 10 pass attempts for 96 yards and a TD, but he had a big game on the ground with 163 yards and a TD. Freshman WR Jermaine Brown Jr. had a productive game on the ground for the Blazers as he contributed 116 yards and a TD.

The UAB Blazers were solid on the defensive side of the ball against the UTEP Miners as they held them to 10 points and rack up a total of 312 yards of offense. Junior LB Kristopher Moll led the way for the UAB defense with 6 tackles, 1.5 TFL, and half a sack. The secondary had a productive game for the Blazers as sophomore safety Will Boler pitched in 5 tackles and 2 pass deflections while junior Austin Watkins hauled in the lone interception of the game.

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs were exposed in their recent game, but that could be accredited to them playing a backup QB as J’mar Smith was suspended which will once again be the case for this game. Aaron Allen was unable to control the offense like Smith, but while the Bulldogs have confidence in the freshman, he left their latest game with an injury which leaves his status in question. UAB has struggled on the offensive side of the ball this season, but they have one of the better defenses in college football as they rank 16th in points allowed. I expect the Blazers to control this game with their defense and ground game, and they will earn their 8th win of the season. Final Score Prediction, UAB Blazers win and cover ATS 27-20.
