The Minnesota Golden Gophers come into their fifth game of the season 2-2 overall riding a two game skid after a three-point loss in overtime to Northwestern. Offensively the Golden Gophers have been below average this season averaging just over 21 points per game on 341 yards of offense. Defensively is where Minnesota has had their issues allowing 364.5 yards and 21 points per game.

Athan Kalliakmanis is the leader for the Minnesota offense with 599 yards and three touchdowns on 59 completions. Darius Taylor has carried the load through the first four games for Minnesota with 532 yards and four scores on 87 carries. Corey Crooms Jr. leads the team with 196 yards on 16 catches and Daniel Jackson has added 163 yards and two touchdowns on 15 catches.
