The Washington Huskies open the 2022 regular season looking to bounce back after an abysmal 4-8 season a year ago that concluded with a four-game losing streak after a 27 point loss to Washington State in the final game of the year. Defensively Washington was dominated giving up 50 points on 454 total yards of offense from Washington State.

Offensively Washington was lackluster in the final game of the year totaling only 200 yards, while turning the ball over four times to score only 13 points in the game. Sam Huard had one of his worst games of the season completing only 17 of 31 passes for 191 yards and one touchdown but threw four interceptions as well. Rome Odunze showed the only sign of life for the Huskies offense with 69 yards receiving and one touchdown on three catches.
