In Saturday afternoon college football action, the Kent State Golden Flashes will take on the Northern Illinois Huskies for the MAC Conference Championship. The Golden Flashes (7-5) have won four of their last five games and rank third nationally in rushing offense (247.3 ypg). On Saturday, Kent State stopped Miami (OH) on a two-point conversion in overtime to secure a 48-47 home victory.

QB Dustin Crum scored a one-yard touchdown run in overtime for a Kent State offense that rolled up 642 yards of total offense. RB Xavier Williams contributed 168 rushing yards and two scores for the Golden Flashes.

The Northern Illinois Huskies improbable run to the championship game included winning six games in conference play by a total of 25 points. Last time out, Northern Illinois trailed by 21 points at halftime during a 42-21 home loss versus Western Michigan. The Huskies (8-4) were gashed for 636 yards of total offense and turned the ball over twice in defeat.

Northern Illinois RB Clint Ratkovich knotted the game at seven in the second quarter with a 96-yard touchdown run. Antario Brown added a 41-yard touchdown dash in a losing effort for the Huskies.
