The Cyclones are coming back to the season here with Matt Campbell to guide the team. The Cyclones last year were one of those teams that was quietly good on the year and moved to a 9-3 record overall, but were impressive at 8-1 in the Big 12 and now in his 5th year the recruits for the upper class men should start to shine through.

Offensively the Cyclones have a two headed threat. The quarterback, Brock Purdy, and running back Breece Hall, are both considered a front runner for the Heisman Trophy this season. Now, in addition to those two great players, to reach that caliber it means that the Cyclones have a great line which will help block for them.

Iowa State had a great defense that was ranked among one of the best in the nation. The Cyclones did lose a great rushing end, but the junior stepping up to take the place of JaQuan is Will McDonald IV who recorded 10.5 sacks.

The kicking game for the Cyclones will look impressive as well. Iowa State is bringing back a senior kicker for the season again after the COVID season cut short the senior years and he is one that is coming back and should help guide the team even more with his powerful and accurate kicking.

The Iowa State Cyclones have a somewhat favorable schedule. However, the Cyclones have a couple of big test that will come in early on the year and one of those is Iowa in the second week. The other big tests are going to come from Texas and Oklahoma. Those three games could go either way, but most likely end up as a close loss for the Cyclones which will push the Cyclones to the under on the win total. Iowa State Cyclones win total prediction under 9.5
