Brock Purdy threw for 247 yards, rushed for 102 yards, and scored four touchdowns for the Cyclones. Deshaunte Jones contributed ten receptions for 110 yards on the afternoon.
The West Virginia Mountaineers come into this matchup for first year head coach Neal Brown with an identical record to Iowa State. On Saturday, West Virginia QB Austin Kendall threw four interceptions during a 42-31 home loss versus Texas. The Mountaineers outgained the Longhorns by a 463-427 margin, but surrendered 21 points over the final 13 minutes.
West Virginia WR T.J. Simmons caught seven passes for 135 yards and a touchdown. Kendall completed 31-for-46 passing attempts for 367 yards and three touchdowns.
