The Taxslayer Gator Bowl will feature a matchup between the Indiana Hoosiers and the Tennessee Volunteers from TIAA Bank Field. The Hoosiers won eight games for the first time since 1983 and rewarded head coach Tom Allen with a seven-year, $27.3 million dollar contract. Last time out, Indiana needed double overtime to defeat in-state rival Purdue by a 44-41 final score.

Indiana QB Peyton Ramsey scored the game-winning touchdown on a one-yard run and threw for 337 yards on the day. Whop Philyor hauled in eight passes for 138 yards and two scores for the Hoosiers.

The Tennessee Volunteers are a program on the rise under the leadership of second year head coach Jeremy Pruitt. The Volunteers (7-5) are riding a five-game winning streak and are making their first bowl appearance in the last three years. In their regular season finale, Tennessee built an 18-point halftime lead and cruised to a 28-10 home victory versus Vanderbilt.

Tennessee RB Eric Gray was a man among boys, rushing for 246 yards and three touchdowns in 25 carries. The Volunteers limited the Commodores to just 110 rushing yards on 30 attempts.

Tennessee won the only meeting between the schools, edging Indiana by a 27-22 final score in 1988. This is one of the better matchups of the bowl season, as both programs are trending up with coaches that plan to stay in place for a long time. Look for both offenses to find success in a game that goes over the total. Final Score Prediction, Tennessee Volunteers win and cover ATS 30-27.
