After a week seven win against Maryland, the Fighting Illni went on to lose 25-21 against Wisconsin in week eight.

Fighting Illni running back Kaden Feagin was also big in this game, coming up with 97 rushing yards and 1 touchdown. Illinois has a much more versatile offense compared to Minnesota however, the Fighting Illni’s defense has been very inconsistent.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers currently sit second in the Big 10 West, posting a record of 5-3. Minnesota comes into this game winning two consecutive games, most recently defeating the Michigan State Spartans 27-12 in week nine. Golden Gophers quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis was solid in week nine, throwing for 200 yards and a touchdown. 

Golden Gophers’ running back Jordan Nubin was an absolute monster against Michigan State, rushing for a game-high 204 yards and 2 touchdowns. Daniel Jackson was also a big threat in this game, Minnesota’s top wide receiver finished with 120 yards and a touchdown. Minnesota has found some success with their offense this season, particularly their rushing offense which averages 174.5 rushing yards per game.
