Holy Cross at UCONN 9/4/2021- NCAAF Picks & Predictions

The Holy Cross Crusaders come off the 2020 season that saw them win the Patriot League Championship. The Crusaders finished the shortened season with a 3-1 record after a win in the Conference Championship. Eli Lafrance will take over at the QB position to lead the Crusaders to another Patriot league title. Cole Canatella will also get a host of snaps as the QB's swap out throughout the season.

Defensively the Crusaders will have lots of size up from led by David Griffin in the middle as he is flanked by size on either side. The line and linebackers will carry the team as there are plenty of secondary question marks for the defense heading into the new season.

The Uconn Huskies are off a week 0 blow out loss to Fresno State. Uconn didnt play in 2020 but finished with an abysmal 2-10 record in 2019. Uconn struggled defensively unable to stop anything Fresno State did leading to a huge halftime deficit and an eventual big loss.

Uconn struggled on offense failing to score any points in the first half but the offense finally woke up in the 2nd hald. Running back Kevin Mensah carried the ball 11 times for 31 total yards boasting a 2.8 yards per carry average. Zach Zergiotis struggled from under center completing 50% of his passes going 12-24 on the day for 61 yards through the air.

These are 2 of the worst teams in the nation and this game will be ugly. Uconn has already been blown out 1 time this year with Holy Cross kicking off their season. Uconn will have the edge with the home crowd and the better athletes. Look for the Huskies to use their superior talent to get this win Saturday. Final Score Prediction, Uconn wins 28-20.
