On December 22, the Hawaii Warriors visit Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii to play the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in the Hawaii Bowl. Hawaii finished the season 8-5 after a 31-30 overtime win against San Diego State. The Warriors quarterback Cole McDonald threw for 452 yards with three touchdowns including a touchdown pass of 10 yards in overtime to JoJo Ward to help beat the Aztecs.

Louisiana Tech finished its season 7-5 after losing its final game 30-15 to Western Kentucky. J’Mar Smith passed for 280 yards in the loss for Louisiana Tech, before being taken out with an injury. Smith is scheduled to play in the bowl game. Israel Tucker scored the only Bulldogs touchdown in the loss with a 19-yard run, just before halftime. Hawaii quarterback Cole McDonald has thrown for 3,790 yards, 35 touchdowns and eight interceptions, while rushing for 370 yards and four touchdowns. Dayton Furuta leads all rushers for the Warriors with 450 yards and two touchdowns. John Ursua has caught 89 passes for 1,433 yards and 16 touchdowns to lead the Warriors.

Louisiana Tech quarterback J’Mar Smith has thrown for 2,875 yards, 14 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Jaqwis Dancy is the leading rusher with 610 yards and nine touchdowns, while Adrian Hardy leads all receivers with 1,052 yards and six touchdowns.

Hawaii will be playing at home which will be a huge advantage. The Warriors offense behind the arm of Cole McDonald will put up big numbers against the Bulldogs. Louisiana Tech averages just 24.2 points per game while Hawaii is averaging 32.3 points per game and the Bulldogs will find it hard to keep up.
