Hawaii at Wyoming 10/30/20 - NCAA Football Picks & Predictions

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors are set to visit War Memorial Stadium in Laramie, Wyoming for a Mountain West Conference clash against the Wyoming Cowboys. The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors come into this matchup with a 1-0 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent road game against the Fresno State Bulldogs, 34-19. QB Chevan Cordeiro connected on 20 of his 30 pass attempts for 229 yards while also adding 116 rushing yards and 2 TDs. The ground game was efficient for Hawaii as RB Miles Reed ran for 109 yards on 21 carries while RB Calvin Turner ran for 60 yards and 2 TDs.

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors were solid on the defensive side of the ball against the Fresno State Bulldogs as they held them to 19 points while forcing 4 turnovers. LB Darius Muasau led the way for the Hawaii defense with 11 tackles, 1 TFL, and 1 sack. The secondary had a productive outing for the Rainbow Warriors as DB Khoury Bethley had 7 tackles and 3 passes defended while DB Eugene Ford pitched in 2 interceptions.

The Wyoming Cowboys come into this matchup with a 0-1 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent road game against the Nevada Wolfpack, 37-34 in OT. QB Levi Williams had a productive game for the Cowboys as he threw for 227 yards, 1 TD, and 1 interception while also adding 2 rushing TDs. RB Xazavian Valladay was the workhorse for Wyoming as he ran for 87 yards on 22 carries while also hauling in 7 catches for 44 yards.

The Wyoming Cowboys struggled on the defensive side of the ball against the Nevada Wolfpack as they allowed them to score 37 points and rack up a total of 496 yards of offense. LB Chad Muma led the way for the Wyoming defense with 14 tackles, 1 TFL, and 1 forced fumble. The Cowboys were able to get into the Nevada backfield a handful of times as NT Cole Godbout and DT Victor Jones both had 2 TFLs.

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors were able to open the season on a positive note as they beat up on the Fresno State Bulldogs with their run game and defense, and they should once again be a contender in the Mountain West. The Rainbow Warriors QB Chevan Cordeiro proved he isn’t afraid to run the ball as he was the leading rusher with 116 yards and 2 TDs, but you can’t forget about the dangerous weapons on the outside which makes this offense so hard to game plan for. The Wyoming Cowboys don’t have a great aerial attack which makes the production of RB Xzavian Valladay important for the team’s success, and I expect Hawaii to sell out on the ground game. The secondary for Hawaii was very good against Fresno State as they forced 3 interceptions, and I believe they will continue their winning ways on the road. Final Score Prediction, Hawaii Rainbow Warriors win and cover ATS 28-21.
