The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets visit Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida on Saturday to play an Atlantic Coast Conference clash against the No. 9 ranked Miami Hurricanes. Georgia Tech did not play this weekend after its scheduled meeting against Pittsburgh was postponed. The Yellow Jackets are 2-5 following a 31-13 loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in their most recent outing on October 31. Georgia Tech was scheduled for a bye week last weekend and therefore will be playing for the first time in three weeks.

Quarterback Jeff Sims has passed for 1,346 yards with eight touchdowns, 10 interceptions and has been sacked 13 times. The leading rusher for Georgia Tech is Jahmyr Gibbs with 369 yards and two touchdowns, while the leading receiver is Jalen Camp with 290 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, linebacker Quez Jackson is the leader in tackles with 57 and four players have two quarterback sacks each to lead the Yellow Jackets.

Miami improved to 7-1 after rallying on Saturday to defeat Virginia Tech 25-24.The Hurricanes trailed by five points starting the fourth quarter but scored a touchdown with just less than six minutes to play to go ahead buy one and hold off the Hokies down the stretch. Miami gained 386 yards of total offense and allowed 362 yards of total offense to Virginia Tech. Quarterback D’Eriq King passed for 255 yards and one touchdown including the game-winning TD pass of 36 yards to Mark Pope.

D’Eriq King has passed for 2,086 yards with 17 touchdowns, four interceptions and has been sacked 24 times. The leading rusher for Miami is Cam’Ron Harris  with 471 yards and six touchdowns, while King has rushed for 421 yards and three touchdowns. Mike Harley is the leading receiver for Miami with 548 yards and four touchdowns. On defense, safety Bubba Bolden has a team-high 43 tackles and defensive lineman Jaelan Phillips is the leader in quarterback sacks with 5.0. 

Miami has dominated this matchup with Georgia Tech going 7-3 straight up and 6-4 against the spread over the last 10 head-to-head. The Hurricanes are coming off a hard-fought victory over Virginia Tech by rallying late to defeat the Hokies behind a strong passing game led by quarterback D’Eriq King. Georgia Tech has had problems all season keeping opposing teams out of the end zone allowing an average of 39.7 points per game and that will be their downfall on Saturday.
