On Thursday, the Georgia Southern Eagles visit Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama to play the South Alabama Jaguars. South Alabama lost on Saturday to Louisiana Monroe 30-17 and fell to 1-4 on the season. Johnson threw for 114 yards and one touchdown and Jalen Tolbert caught four passes for 44 yards for the Jaguars.

The leading rusher for the Eagles for the season is Logan Wright with 248 yards and two touchdowns, while Tomlin has rushed for 193 yards and two touchdowns. The leading receiver is Khaleb Hood with 56 yards. Rashad Byrd leads Georgia Southern in tackles with 34.
Cephus Johnson has thrown for 400 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions for South Alabama. Tra Minter leads all rushers for South Alabama with 282 yards and two touchdowns, while Kawaan Baker is the leading receiver with 206 yards and two touchdowns. Nick Mobley is the leading tacklers for the Jaguars with 32.
