Georgia Southern at South Alabama 10/14/21 - College Football Picks & Predictions

Hancock Whitney Stadium will play host to a Thursday night college football clash between the Georgia Southern Eagles and the South Alabama Jaguars. The Eagles (2-4) have dropped two of their first three Sun Belt Conference games and rank seventh in the country in rushing offense (253.2 ypg). On Saturday, Georgia Southern trailed by 14 points at halftime during a 27-24 road loss against Troy. 

Georgia Southern RB Khaleb Hood scored on a 23-yard run to close the gap to 24-18 in the third quarter. Justin Tomlin threw three interceptions in a losing effort for the Eagles.

The South Alabama Jaguars have lost their first two conference games and own the ninth worst offense (290.4 ypg) in college football. On Saturday, South Alabama took Texas State to overtime before falling by a 33-31 final score. The Jaguars (3-2) were outgained by a 400-330 margin and turned the ball over three times in defeat. 

AJ Phillips scored two rushing touchdowns, including a 5-yard run that gave South Alabama a 24-10 fourth quarter lead. Jalen Tolbert caught five passes for 84 yards and tied the game in overtime with a 12-yard touchdown reception.
