The Georgia Bulldogs lost a great deal of experience and talent following their 2017 season, but the team is not expected to regress this season. The team is full of ultra-talented athletes and top-ranked recruits. The Georgia offense is expected to score often with the return of quarterback Jake Fromm and a strong offense line mixed with several explosive playmakers at the skills’ positions. At the same time, the defense will have to replace six starters, but has more than enough talent waiting to showcase their abilities on the gridiron. While uncertainty does exist with so many new faces, football pundits believe the Bulldogs will be back vying for a national title again this season.
The Bulldogs are expected to be a run-oriented smash-mouth unit much like the offense a season ago. However, this season, the offense could become more balanced with a strong passing attack. D’Andre Swift will no longer be under the shadows of Sony Michel or Nick Chubb at running back and Zamir White a freshman is expected to make a big impact. The offense line is bigger and stronger this season and that will help create more holes for the backs to run through. Fromm completed 62.2% of his passes last season and with talented wide receivers in Terry Godwin, Mecole Hardman and Riley Ridley, the offense could see as much success through the air as on the ground. Talented freshman QB Justin Fields could become a dual-threat option during the course of the season.

Georgia’s defense lost eight starters including all four linebackers that included the ultra-talented Roquan Smith who is now a member of the Chicago Bears. Nonetheless, there is plenty of talent left on the defensive side of the ball. The secondary will be its strength with Deandre Baker at corner and J.R. Redd at safety. The line will be anchored by Tyler Clark and Jonathan Ledbetter, while senior Natrez Patrick returns at inside linebacker, but must stay away from off field problems that have plagued him. Tyson Campbell a five-star recruit at cornerback should make an impact on the defense, while D’Andre Walker and Walter Grant a pair of linebackers will make the transition from bench to starters.

Georgia does not have the experience it had last season nor the talent on the defensive side of the ball. Nevertheless, the less experienced and younger players will have time to mature thanks to schedule that is far from difficult. The Bulldogs should reach their 10.5 wins projection and repeat as the SEC East champion, although reaching CFP might not be in the cards this season.
