Fresno State at Connecticut 10/1/22 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The Fresno State Bulldogs continue a road trip this week 1-2 on the year following a 28 point loss to USC in their last game. Fresno State struggled immensely on the defensive side of the ball as USC scored 45 points on 517 total yards of offense including 284 through the air. Offensively Fresno State moved the ball accumulating 421 yards but turned the ball over twice leading to the loss.

Fresno State used a 2-quarterback set as Logan Fife led the way completing 11 of 12 passes for 140 yards and Jake Haener went 10-18 through the air for 117 yards and one touchdown. Jordan Mims led all bell carriers for Fresno State with 114 yards on 15 carries, while Malik Sherrod added 47 yards and 1 score on 8 carries.

The UConn Huskies return home this week as one of the worst teams in college football with only one win in four games riding a three-game losing streak after a 31 point loss to North Carolina State. Defensively the Huskies were no match for North Carolina State as the Wolfpack scored 41 points on 492 total yards of offense.

The UConn offense was no help to the defense scoring only 10 points on 160 total yards of offense in the game. Quarterback Zion Turner completed 11 of 12 passes for 39 yards and ran the ball 9 times for 10 yards to lead the Huskies offense. Victor Rosa chipped in 43 yards and one touchdown on six carries as well.
